Introduction
An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patent Cell in our college is a dedicated unit focused on fostering innovation, protecting intellectual property, and promoting patent awareness among students and faculty. These cells provide guidance and resources for creating, protecting, and commercializing intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Objectives
- To foster a culture of innovation by recognizing and supporting original ideas and inventions.
- To organize seminars, workshops, and training sessions on IPR topics.
- To provide support in protecting other forms of IP like copyrights, trademarks, and designs.
- To promote licensing, technology transfer, and commercialization of IP to benefit the institution and the inventor.
- To facilitate mediation or legal counsel when needed.
- To encourage partnerships with industries for joint IP development.
Responsibilities
- To motivate students and faculty to pursue innovative projects.
- To conduct workshops, seminars, and guest lectures on IPR topics for students, researchers, and faculty.
- To provide assistance in filing copyrights, trademarks, and design registrations.
- To develop and implement an institutional IPR policy governing ownership, revenue sharing, and commercialization.
- To coordinate with legal experts, patent agents, and government IP offices for application processing.
