Introduction
The SEDGs Cell is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment within the institution that ensures access to quality higher education for all students belonging to Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). The Cell functions independently and supports the protection of constitutionally guaranteed rights and equal opportunities for SEDGs, with full adherence to Government guidelines and the Constitution of India.
Objectives of SEDGs Cell
- To protect the constitutional rights and dignity of students belonging to SEDGs and ensure they have equal access and opportunities in higher education.
- To create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional well-being of SEDGs students.
- To ensure effective implementation of Government policies and institutional programmes such as scholarships, reservation policies, bridge courses, and orientation programmes tailored to support SEDGs.
Responsibilities of SEDGs Cell

To coordinate with statutory bodies and institutional cells (e.g., SC/ST Cell, Equal Opportunity Cell, IQAC) to implement and monitor schemes and policies for the benefit of SEDGs.
- To organize counselling, mentoring, and skill development programmes to support the academic and personal growth of SEDGs students.
- To act as a single-window support system for addressing the grievances, welfare needs, and scholarship-related concerns of SEDGs students in a confidential and timely manner.
- To raise awareness through sensitization and outreach programmes for faculty, staff, and students to build a more inclusive institutional culture.
